About Mrs. HindsMy name is Amy Hinds and I teach 7th Grade Life Science. This will be my 4th year at Hopewell Middle School. I have taught a variety of age ranges from preschool to high school physics and chemistry. However, my true love is the life sciences and biology. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from Southwest Texas State University now known as Texas State University. I received my teaching certification through Region 4 Education Service Center and The University of St. Thomas. This year I have the honor of representing Hopewell as the 2019 Teacher of the Year! I am so excited to represent Hopewell and I am beyond proud to call Hopewell my home! I love teaching science and I look forward to working with all of my students! STING'EM

My Family and Interests |
My husband, Jason, and I have been married for 19 years! We have two amazing children. Ross is 18 years old and is a Senior at Stony Point High School. Raegan, is 16 years old and she is a Junior at Stony Point High School. The baby of our family is our 13 year old border collie, Zoie. In our spare time, our family loves to travel. This year we were very busy with travel. Our family visited New York City and we had an amazing time at the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, 5th Avenue Sites, 911 Memorial and at the Broadway Show, Wicked. In addition, we visited Chicago, Milwaukee, and New Orleans. Also, we have officially begun our college visits. So far, we have visited SMU, TCU, Oklahoma State, Southwestern, Texas State, Texas A & M, and the University of Texas. Last year, our big trip was a family cruise with 54 cousins, aunts and uncles! Two years ago, our family traveled to Disneyworld where my daughter had the opportunity to perform in a night time parade at the Magic Kingdom!!! The previous summer, we took a 10 day road trip that brought us to: Atlanta, Washington D.C., NYC, and Myrtle Beach. We have traveled to Paris, Costa Rica, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Cozumel, Hawaii, Rome, and throughout the United States. My hobbies include: watching my son play football and soccer at Stony Point High School and Force Soccer Club, and watching my daughter dance on her competitive dance team at The Dance Gallery and perform with the Tiger Dancer Drill Team at Stony Point High School. In addition, I love to read, shop, and swim, but mostly I like spending time with my family and friends! I truly enjoy teaching and I can't wait to work with all of our fabulous Hornets! Hopewell has the best students around and it is an honor to work with such World Class students!
